Having been around for over a decade Latin metal band Ill Niño are certainly no stranger to the music scene. It’s quite surprising then that they put on a performance that although started out as an exciting and energetic spectacle quickly transformed into an unbearably long haze of noise to which they seemed to be no end. The New Jersey six-piece wowed the crowd make no mistake, but to anyone unfamiliar with their songs they were nothing short of beige. However, at the end of the day the fans are the people that matter and they were clearly loving it. Support for the night was provided by Breed 77 who were exceptional, and local band Stone Circle who at times sounded like a group of kids failing at Guitar Hero. Of their set Breed 77 frontman Paul Isola said “It was amazing, the people were amazing”. I didn’t have much room to move but I think they did. It’s been too long since we played Brighton and we’ll be back very, very soon”.
